Reading Savvy was founded in 2012 by Susan Marais. She has been involved in education for over 30 years and has done research in computer assisted language learning and emergent literacy learning. She guides parents in the early years of educational development of their children, more specific emergent / early literacy.
She writes short articles and develops multimedia programs according to research done in emergent/early literacy all to be used for the Reading Savvy blog. These articles serve as helpful information to parents, teachers and caregivers for the emergent, young upcoming reader.
Susan Marais completed her MPhil in Hypermedia for Language Learning in 2012 (University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. Thesis Topic: The promotion of Emergent Literacy through multimedia as preparation for elementary reading to ensure reading ability, comprehension and fluency).
